What a lovely week to be a horror fan. On Wednesday, the teaser trailer for Andy Muschietti‘s big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s It hit the internet, causing said internet to collectively lose its damn mind. As reported by Deadline and Entertainment Weekly, that same mind-losing resulted in the teaser trailer (easily) becoming the most watched trailer in a single day… well, ever.

The previous single day views record was held by the recently released (and gloriously insane) trailer for The Fate of the Furious, which earned 139 million views within a 24 hour stretch. It, however, had no trouble whatsoever dethroning the trailer, as the widely praised teaser tallied more than 197 million views in its first day alone, nearly reaching 250 million by the 36 hour mark.

The success of the trailer is huge news for Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, who teamed up to distribute the wildly anticipated update. Mainstream horror has been on an upswing as of late, both in quality and box office numbers, so hopefully this translates well when the film is released in September.

If you’ve yet to see the trailer for It, or if you want to continue checking it out like apparently everyone else is doing, prepare yourself to be afraid and watch it below. You’ll float too.
