As reported exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter, life has found a way for Jeff Goldblum to return to the Jurassic Park franchise. Co-starring as Ian Malcolm in 1993’s still-perfect original film and leading the cast of 1997’s lackluster follow-up (there, I said it), the actor is poised to induce a little chaos as he’s set to reprise his role in J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World 2.
Prior to taking over the Jurassic World series for Colin Treverrow (who penned the sequel despite J.A. taking over directing duties), Bayona is primarily known for his work behind the camera in last year’s A Monster Calls and 2007’s The Orphanage.
Jeff Goldblum will be reprising his role in a cast that features Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, James Cromwell, Toby Jones and many more. With the cast and crew promising a darker, more terrifying take on the franchise, we’re excited to see how Jurassic World 2 lives up to the box office numbers of it’s 2015 predecessor, the fourth-highest-grossing movie of all time.
The film is slated for release on June 22, 2018, but for now, here’s a 10-hour loop of Jeff Goldblum’s iconic Jurassic Park laugh.
