Andy Muschietti‘s big-screen adaptation of IT is undoubtedly the most important horror flick due out this year, but in many ways, it feels like the biggest horror film of the entire decade so far. Fans of Stephen King‘s famous novel, as well as the 1990 miniseries, are clamoring to be made afraid of Pennywise the clown once again- and if the first reactions from Twitter are any indication, fans will be getting that very thing when the wildly anticipated ‘IT’ movie releases in two weeks.

Film critics who saw an early screening of IT have been taking to the social media website to post their spoiler-free reactions to the film, and they’ve been unanimously positive. The first responses praise everything from the performance of Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise, the “perfect” casting of the Losers’ Club, the unexpected humor that the film has to offer, the surprising amount of heart, and, of course, the scares.

You can give the film all of your money when it hits theaters September 8th.
