Netflix is adding to it’s ever-growing list of original content with a superhero series that will feature Michael B. Jordan.

The streaming service has ordered 10 episodes of the family drama Raising Dion, which focuses on the relationship between a single mother and her young son after he begins to exhibit supernatural abilities. The concept originated as a short film by Dennis Liu, who is directing the series.

Addressing the announcement that Netflix had picked up the series, Liu said: “I started this project many years ago because I wanted to see more diverse representation on film and television and I’m excited to partner with Netflix and MACRO, who I know shares that commitment. More than ever, we need more stories told from different points of view and my hope with Raising Dion is to create a cinematic experience for all families that will lift your spirits and make you laugh and cry.”

Jordan, who stars in Marvel’s Black Panther movie, will appear in the series as the late husband, but will also serve as an executive producer alongside showrunner Carol Barbee and Dennis Liu.
