Tragedy and loss can make people do stuff they wouldn’t normally do. It can turn us into different people and sometimes there’s no turning back. In the new horror short, The Babyface Killer, the main character’s dark side is triggered and no one is safe.

The Babyface Killer is created by the Forte brothers, Matthew and Kevin from Forte Films Entertainment. It tells the story of a couple who are grieving after the loss of their unborn child. However, Mark can’t control his pain and his dark side takes over and unleashes a vicious killer. The short stars Matt BruzzioXiomara Forman, and Vic Varriale.

We’ve seen stories like this before. Loss often brings the worse of us. Just look at Jigsaw and Pamela Voorhees. However, I think Vic Varriale gives them a run for their money. His dark side is vicious, relentless, and completely cold. No remorse whatsoever. Plus, to make it even more terrifying, he had a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing going on as well. By day, he was a loving husband to his wife and by night a killer.

There’s a specific scene towards the end of The Babyface Killer that left me shocked and horrified that involved ripping a child out of the mother’s womb. It sent chills down my spine and made my stomach turn. So bravo to that, because that’s not an easy task.

I do have to mention that I was a little disappointed by the special effects. Mostly because I was super impressed by what the Forte Brothers did with Anna. Although they weren’t necessarily bad in this film, I just really enjoyed the quality they provided in Anna and hope to see more of that in the future!

Overall, the Forte brothers continue to impress me. It takes a lot to get under my skin and they definitely did with The Babyface Killer. I look forward to more of their shorts and features in the future. If you’d like to check The Babyface Killer out, you can do so by clicking here.
