The potential deal has been the talk of the town as of late, with many Marvel fans dreaming of the day when the X-Men could meet the Avengers on screen. That dream has now become a reality, as Disney just reached a deal to purchase much of 21st Century Fox for a whopping $52.4 billion.

And it was worth every penny.

The Simpsons is among the properties now owned by Disney.

The Walt Disney Company is now the owner of many Fox divisions, including its movie and television divisions. With the agreement being reached, the company has the rights to X-men, Deadpool, James Cameron’s Avatar, The Simpsons, The X-Files, and basically the rest of the entertainment world as well.

The company will also purchase Fox’s majority stake in Hulu’s video streaming service, which bodes well for their own streaming service, which is soon to come.

This news is huge for the entertainment landscape, but particularly effects fans of comic book films.

What do you think of the deal? Are you excited for Disney to purchase the Fox properties, or are you hesitant to trust those properties with the family-friendly company? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

  1. Excellent news. Since Infinity War is reportedly gonna be the end of the MCU as we’ve known it, there could not be a better time for a game changing shake-up like this. It’s gonna blow everyone’s minds the first time an X-man pops up in a Marvel movie, likely in a not-too-distant post credit sequence. And let’s not forget the rights to the Fantastic Four went over too, so maybe we’ll finally see them done right on the big screen. These are exciting times we live in, bub.
