Recently we reported that Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to play the Joker in an upcoming standalone origin story about the Clown Prince of Crime. Well, now it seems there’s another actor eager to throw his name in the hat for the role. The director, writer, producer, and actor behind the cult-hit ‘disasterpiece’ The Room, Tommy Wiseau, is apparently very interested in playing the staple Batman villain.
For those unfamiliar with his work, The Room is a 2003 drama starring Wiseau, which was a nightmare to shoot and eventually went on to become the best worst movie ever. James Franco’s recent film The Disaster Artist is based on the film and goes behind the scenes and retells the story.
Wiseau tweeted about his interest multiple times on his new Twitter account and even went as far as retweeting some pretty awesome fan art of him as the Joker.
Yes ! I want to be THE JOKER !

As much as I would like to see Phoenix in the role, I would love to see how a Tommy Wiseau-led DCEU film would go. Maybe he should write, direct, and produce it as well.
