Nicholas Verso isn’t yet a household name, but know this- he will be. The filmmaker behind The Last Time I Saw Richard and The Boys in the Trees is a master of his craft, and if you’ve been fortunate enough to check out one of his movies, you’re already aware of that. If not, check out the perfect score given in our review of the latter film and succumb to the hype. It’s brilliant, beautiful, and it will move you in ways that no horror flick has ever come close to doing.
With that film starting to find an audience after making an appearance on Netflix, things are looking up for Verso. Word of mouth is strong, and now the director has landed a new horror project that will ideally keep the praise coming.
The Hollywood Reported announced today that Verso is taking the helm of The Ice Cream Man for Covert Media and Broken Road Productions. Written by Justin Powell and David Charbonier, the film will follow two brothers who are being terrorized by a sinister being.
Though not much else is currently known about the project, you can check out our interview with Verso to find out more about his previous efforts and influences in the link below.
